My Mother's Fleabag

Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Mass.

My Mother's Fleabag was founded in 1980, which makes us, to my knowledge, the oldest college improv troupe in the country...I may be wrong on this, but that is the information passed down through the group lore. The group consists entirely of Boston College students, yet has in actuallity no official connection to the school. We are a self-funded, self- perpetuating group.

Fleabag performs in and around Boston, in whole or in part, for fun or as a booked contract. We preform the standard array of improv games, borrowed largely from bootleg copies of The Groundling's handbook, which has been circling in the group since it's inception. Our standard performance is site is at B.C.'s O'Connell House, a restored mansion on the college campus. Each semester, we do a four-show, two-day run, mixing improv, skits, a group opera, and a live band.
